Last week, JR spent part of his birthday doing what he loves best – getting up on the streets. For this unique little “inception” worthy project within a project, it looks like the French street photograffeur enlisted his friends Os Gemeos to pose for a photo on the back of a truck which then was pasted back onto said truck (seen below). Last year in Boston, Os Gemeos painted a mural in conjunction with their showing at the Institute of Contemporary Art (covered). Now, MOCAtv has just released a video (seen below) documenting the progress along with some commentary from the twins as they talked about the entire project. Covered in the conversation with the two from São Paulo included their feelings about the piece being the first of its scale in Boston, musings on the meaning of art, and more… Photo credit: Maris. Most fans of street art have be following the creation online of the Os Gemeos and Aryz collaboration mural in Poland over the last several weeks. We now have a look at the completed wall (painted for the Urban Forms Gallery event in Lodz) as well as some progress pics. Photographer Ryan McGinley, who has been flexing his film-making muscles as of late, recently hooked up with EDUN (fashion label of Ali Hewson and her husband, U2 singer Bono) to produce a video for their Fall/Winter 2012 collection. Last week, AM took a road trip up to the ICA Boston to catch the opening week of Os Gemeos’ first ever solo museum exhibition in the U.S. The twins Otávio & Gustavo Pandolfo (aka Os Gemeos) took Beantown by storm with not only a mind blowing mural at Dewey Square’s MassDot building, but also took over two of the ICA’s exhibition rooms with a great selection of art including paintings and sculptural work. Although already open to the public as of a couple days ago, the Boston ICA will be celebrating the start of the Os Gemeos exhibition (previewed) today with a waterfront launch party, complete with Caipirinhas, Brazilian street food, and DJs who will take visitors to the heart of the artists’ native São Paulo. On Saturday night, dynamic duo Os Gemeos finally revealed their much anticipated new body of work, Miss You, at the PRISM in Los Angeles. As hoped for by their fervent fans in LA, the twins created an immersive installation throughout the architectural showspace featuring their whimsical imagery in the form of large-scale paintings, sculptural elements, and weavings.
