Showing: Paco Pomet – “Melancholia” @ Richard Heller Gallery

Showing though this weekend at Richard Heller Gallery in Los Angeles, Paco Pomet’s solo entitled  Melancholia explores different states of light and their affect on the human psyche. Taking inspiration from vintage photos as a starting point, the Spanish artist has added his own surreal twist like what looks to be slow burning  lava, strange auras, or the sun and the moon, changing the atmosphere of the scene completely. Releases: Paco Pomet – “Habia Una Vez (Once Upon a Time)” Print

Award winning printer Christian M. Walter recently released a new limited edition by Spanish artist Paco Pomet whose work often touching on environmental issues and human behavior. For this project, the Andalucian painter chose Habia Una Vez (Once Upon a Time), a painting that was included in last year’s Dismaland event by Banksy (covered) and kept by him for his personal collection. Upcoming: Paco Pomet – “Recent Paintings” @ Richard Heller Gallery

For his third solo with Richard Heller Gallery, Paco Pomet will be presenting some Recent Paintings that continue his now well known modus operandi. The Granada-based artist creates works of art that look like loosely rendered vintage photos and landscapes that have unusual color accents or delightful surreal elements that can be seen when examined more closely. The opening is scheduled for May 14th for those interested in the Los Angeles area.

Entitled Scapelands, his second exhibition with the Bergamot Station showspace will feature a range of his works including traditional scenes interjected with text bubbles, surreal visions of human-animal hybrids, as well as plays with perspective.
