Streets: Shepard Fairey – “Earth Crisis” @ Eiffel Tower (Paris)

Earlier today, Shepard Fairey (featured) revealed his latest installation (arranged by Gallery Itinerrance) that he entitled Earth Crisis, a giant sphere suspended between the first and second floor of the Eiffel Tower. Openings: OFFICIELLE Art Fair (Paris)

After a look at the main FIAC art fair in Paris, we now bring you photos from a satellite event – the OFFICIELLE Art Fair. Recap: FIAC 2015

Over the weekend, the FIAC art fair opened their doors to the public at the Grand Palais in Paris. The 42nd edition of the annual event featured artwork presented by 173 galleries from 23 different countries. Parisians and visitors took advantage of their opportunity to peruse and add to their collections with this being the premiere art event in the country every year. Streets: Herakut / Project 256 (Paris)

Project 256 is a unique non-commercial campaign that launched several days ago in Paris. By combining street art and digital technology, the innovative project aims to ease some of the suffering of people that call those same streets their home. The concept of this campaign is based on creating a portrait of a homeless person in the public space. Showing: Steven Harrington – “Wavy Days” @ Colette

At the end of last month, colette in Paris opened a show from Steven Harrington entitled Wavy Days. The selection of recent paintings, prints, drawings, and sculpture were a therapeutic means for the American artist to deal with his struggles with anxiety, a channelling of that worrisome energy into playful cartoons and humor. Harrington also painted a mural at the store of two interlocking palm trees, a motif that can be seen throughout the new body of work. Discuss Steven Harrington here.

Previews: JR – “DECADE, Portrait d’une génération” @ Galerie Perrotin (Paris)

Tomorrow night (September 12th), the newest solo from JR (interviewed) will be opening at the rue de Turenne and impasse Saint-Claude spaces of Galerie Perrotin in Paris. Entitled DECADE, Portrait dune génération, the exhibition will feature a selection of his videos, ink on wood pieces, and recent photographs that has spanned the last 10 years. Streets: Invader (Paris) – Summer 2015

After an update in July, on top of that now a recap what Invader has been up in his home city of Paris during the summer months. Taking advantage of the warmer months, with the “streets are empty, the inhabitants have left and the nights are mild,” the French artist got up over 30 new pieces in the capital city. Streets: James Reka (Paris)

James Reka recently finished his largest mural ever at 18 Rue Regnault in the Arrondissement des Gobelins in Paris. Working five long days on a cherry picker, the Berlin-based artist spent some 250 liters of paint for this massive piece. Covering a 30 meters high facade of a 11 storey residential brick wall building, the Australian-born  artist painted a recognizable colorful piece. By putting together abstract, organic looking shapes, he was able to create this figurative image that mirrors the work presented at his recent solo show in Milan (covered). […]
