Openings: Olson Olson Recine & Ass @ Nyehaus

AM recently caught the opening of a very unique show entitled Olson Olson Recine & Ass at New York’s Nyehaus. Sounds kinda like a law firm right? Well, that’s the point as this group show was titled by a father/son duo Steve & Alex Olson. The central theme of exhibition was the wheel, so whether it was riding a skateboard or motorcycle, the artists Phil Frost, Curtis Kulig, Yaniv Evan, Bob Recine and the previously mentioned duo have always been rolling in perpetual motion. Another cool […]

This Tuesday, Phillips de Pury & Company will be holding their more-accessible Under the Influence contemporary auction in New York. Among the lots are pieces by many of our favorite artists, including Chiho Aoshima, Marcel Dzama, Phil Frost, and Barry McGee. One notable lot is Portrait 5, Stephen(s), 2009–2010, a collaborative work by Shepard Fairey, Andres Serrano and Frank Stella, which debuted on the December 8, 2010 episode of The Colbert Report as part of an interview with Steve Martin and is now being sold […]

Phil Frost x UNDFTD’s Billboard Project

Seeing that Phil Frost’s epic show at the PRISM with Barry McGee is still showing, it’s good timing for him to collaborate with Undefeated, mega clothing and lifestyle brand, on their billboard project. Frost joins the long list of luminaries such as Kehinde Wiley, Robert Williams, Jose Parla, Os Gemeos, Kaws, and Raymond Pettibon in designing the sign above the Undefeated store location on La Brea in Los Angeles. Another image after the jump…

Showing: “Natural Selection” @ Atkinson Gallery (UK)

When we heard about an exhibition that was to be curated by Elms Lester at the prestigious Atkinson Gallery in Somerset, it definitely stoked our interest.
