For this week’s Art Focus, AM would like to introduce the photography of Peter Lippmann. Although he has produced some wonderful series of work on rotting fruit, destroyed cameras, remixes of master paintings, and more, we will be looking at his Paradise Parking shots. For this particular set of pics, the Paris-based American-born photographer features classic cars parked for the last time and subjected to the unrelenting forces of nature. Last Friday, Ivory & Black in London celebrated their grand opening with a show from New York-based Cheryl Dunn of Beautiful Losers’ fame. The acclaimed filmmaker and photographer has made a career of documenting urban and youth culture spanning a wide expanse of subjects such as skaters, the homeless, musicians, graffiti, artists, and their processes. A few weekends back in Los Angeles, Luis De Jesus opened a group exhibition entitled Dualities, Omissions, Loops, and Ruptures, featuring local artists Chris Engman, Cody Trepte, Samantha Roth, and John Houck. The cleverly curated grouping brought together four artists as disparate in technique as they are unified in purpose, collectively weaving between photography, film, drawing, print, and sculpture in order to explore ideas of “constructed realities” and “emotional dualities” in their own individual ways. Streets: JR x Liu Bolin (Part II)

Yesterday, we gave you an inside look at the collaborative project between Liu Bolin and JR (featured). During the first part of the day, the French artist wheat-pasted up a beautiful photo mural of the Liu. Now, we get to see Chinese artist return the favor and camouflage JR into his own art with his signature touch. In preparation for his upcoming show at Eli Klein Fine Art, Beijing-based artist Liu Bolin was in town to once again hit up New York. This time, he collaborated on a unique project with his friend and fellow photographer JR (featured). After blessing some walls in Los Angeles with his photographic touch along with giving another TED talk, JR (featured) headed over to Cuba for the next phase of his ongoing The Wrinkles Of The City project.
