Recap: POW! WOW! Taiwan

Last week, the first POW! WOW! Taiwan wrapped up successfully as invited artists finished public works throughout the capital city of Taipei. With the main event based in Hawaii (see 2014), it looks like the crew behind this annual art retreat will be branching out to different parts of the world. Taipei’s version featured some familiar faces and some new talent, including some local artists. Showing: Brendan Monroe & Evah Fan – “Black and Night” @ Shimokitazawa Books

While in Taiwan for POW! WOW! Taiwan, husband and wife Brendan Monroe and Evah Fan took the opportunity to show together at Shimokitazawa Books. Entitled Black and Night, the exhibition featured a small selection of Monroe’s topographic “Black” ink drawings and Fan’s characters floating among the stars of the “Night” sky. Take a look at more photos below and email Monique Lee: [email protected] if you have interest in adding something to your collection. Photo credit: Sean Marc Lee & the artists. Not only has the main event gotten bigger and better each year, POW WOW! will now be expanding worldwide with the first satellite event to be held in Taiwan from May 28 to June 3. The schedule will include mural painting in Taipei from international and local artists like Aaron De La Cruz, Apex, […]
