Publications: Michael Murphy For Time Magazine Person of the Year Edition

Congratulations to Michael Murphy on this recently completed commission for Time Magazine. The full panoramic view (captured in the animated GIF above) of the sculptural portrait of Barack Obama is featured on the iPad edition of Time’s Person Of The Year edition. Mike’s 66 piece reverse stencil sculpture is reminiscent of the public commission memorial sculpture he created of Stephanie Tubbs Jones in Cleveland a couple of years ago. Ryan McGinley Photographs Karlie Kloss For New York Times

Like his previous photography work with Sienna Miller for Vogue and video for Pringle of Scotland, Ryan McGinley has already had several fashion projects under his belt. His latest shoot for the The New York Times is no different as he was enlisted to take photos of model Karlie Kloss for part of their travel series for T Magazine with this particular session set in Nicaragua. It’s time to update you on something that German duo Herakut have been working on recently – The Giant Storybook Project. Acting on their long-time desires to create a children’s book, Jasmin (interviewed) and Falk have taken to the streets around the world to paint the “pages” of their story. Murals of Lily, Jay, two giants, and their adventures have already hit the walls in Kentucky, Germany, Montreal, Toronto, Rochester, and San Francisco. This Saturday night (October 20th, 7-10pm) at the Nucleus Gallery, Andrew Hem (interviewed), will be hosting a signing and special edition art exhibition for his new book – Dreams Towards Reality. Tim O’Brien – Aged Mona Lisa for Discover Magazine

Tim O’Brien, an artist who has been featured here on AM before (see Tupac, Osama bin Laden as well as sweet Charlie Brown painting), has a new magazine cover out. The new painting that ended up being on the front of Discover Magazine’s new issue about the aging world was an older version of Davinci’s muse – Mona Lisa.
