Publications: KAWS for Whitewall’s Winter Luxury Issue

For this year’s winter luxury issue, Whitewall invited KAWS to design the cover (in two versions). In addition to this collaboration on the front of the glossy, the magazine will publish a 12-page studio visit feature including an in-depth interview, portraits of the artist, images of his new work, and KAWS’ own sketches and blueprints of his sculptures and paintings. Now available from Sternberg Press comes Folds, an elegantly produced and insightful publication chronicling Tauba Auerbach’s captivating series of paintings by the same name. A couple weekends ago in Chelsea, we attended this year’s Editions|Artists’ Book Fair, which brought together contemporary fine art print and art book publishers and dealers from around the world. Publications / Releases: Ai Weiwei – “Circle of Animals” @ Paul Kasmin

Next Thursday, November 17th (6-8pm), the Paul Kasmin gallery will be presenting a gold set of Ai Weiwei’s bronze sculptures, Zodiac Heads, to the public. Other larger renditions of the twelve animal heads, each depicting a part of the Chinese zodiac, have already been shown at the Pulitzer Fountain (Central Park) in New York and the LACMA in Los Angeles, but this showing will be accompanied by a book launch. Events: James Jarvis Book Release @ The Standard Shop NYC

Tonight, at The Standard Shop, NYC, acclaimed British illustrator James Jarvis will unveil his first new narrative in five years, De Profundis, with a public signing event from 6-8pm. Accompanying the book’s release, The Standard Shop has organized an exhibition of Jarvis’ work – including original works for sale – complete with an original site-specific piece on the Shop’s windows from November 10th through December 8th.
