Published by Printed Matter in a hand signed and numbered edition of 1,000 (with 100 proofs), [2,3] is comprised of six individual pop-up sculptures, each housed in its own cover and collectively assembled in a custom slipcase. Art HK ’11: “HONG KONG Terry Richardson” @ Diesel

During the recent Art HK ’11, controversial photographer extraordinaire Terry Richardson presented a body of Asian themed work, aptly dubbed HONG KONG Terry Richardson, with clothing company Diesel. The selection of toned down, while still edgy portraits centered around celebrities native to the city of Hong Kong. A book by the same name, produced in conjunction with Ooi Botos and limited to 1000 copies, offers up Richardson’s entire catalog of photographs taken in Hong Kong during his travels there. More installation shots after the jump.

Viewpoints: Peter Kennard + War Boutique — ‘shooting@earth’ @ Black Rat Projects

Black Rat Projects in London recently hosted shooting@earth, a three-day event running from 5 to 7 May which launched @earth, the new photo-essay by Peter Kennard, assisted by Tarek Salhany. The exhibition also showcased a collection of works that packed a punch by former armour designer, War Boutique. Although AM felt War Boutique’s art was sometimes a little easy or obvious, at other times it was remarkable: You think it has the subtlety of an old Panzer IV, that you can see it coming from […]

Tim O’Brien – Osama bin Laden Time Magazine Cover

Some of you may remember Tim O’Brien from his popular take on Charlie Brown for the Monster? exhibition (covered) a while back.  Unfortunately, the piece later ended up being the target of the notoriously zealous estate of Charles Schultz. We’ve been following his mostly illustrative work on his blog ever since that show and have enjoyed the background information and insight posted by the talented artist on various projects. Of particular interest though because of recent events is the TIME cover that he created for […]
