Mörel Books, publisher of the highly acclaimed and gorgeous Moonmilk book by Ryan McGinley, is coming out with a book by fellow photographer, artist, and skateboard legend Ed Templeton. Templeton, a Huntington Beach, CA native and resident, works in multiple mediums while exploring his surroundings, personal relationships, and the outskirts of suburban life. You may remember when we covered Kehinde Wiley’s show at Roberts & Tilton back in April. Well, the gallery has now released “The World Stage: Brazil” book, a 22 paintings from when Wiley was in the South American country looking for subjects for his signature portraiture. Jeff Koons, who recently opened a solo exhibition in LA at the Gagosian, will be making an appearance at the New York branch for a book signing. The new 138 page publication “Hulk Elvis” features his series of similarly named paintings and is available on the Gagosian webstore. French photographer and street artist JR just announced the release today of his “Women are Heroes” book. In addition to following JR’s international exploits and wheatpastes, this book also focuses on his subjects – the women of Africa, Asia and South America, offering their personal testimonials to the public for the very first time. “Women are Heroes” is now available through Crakedz.
