Over the weekend, Stephen Webster (located in Beverly Hills) opened up their 2nd floor gallery space with an exhibition curated by the Corey Helford Gallery. Tonight at Stephen Webster in Beverly Hills in their 2nd floor gallery space, an exhibited curated by Corey Helford Gallery will open featuring the art work of Ray Caesar (interviewed). The murder mystery themed evening will also feature a launch of the jewelry line’s it started with eve... collection, a set of rings inspired by histories of the most villainous sirens as well as an installation from Cameron Silver. Openings: Ray Caesar – “A Dangerous Inclination” @ Corey Helford Gallery

This past Saturday night, Ray Caesar presented his newest solo show, A Dangerous Inclination, to the Culver City art crowd. Featuring new digital creations as well as some favorites from the past, the show at Corey Helford Gallery put his genius in finding beauty in the disturbing and grotesque on display, something he talked to AM about in an interview we conducted with him last week. This Saturday night (Oct 22), Ray Caesar will be bringing his digital masterpieces to Corey Helford Gallery for his first solo exhibition there. On October 22nd, the Corey Helford Gallery will be presenting Ray Caesar’s first solo show that we will attend since the beginning of the year in New York. Entitled A Dangerous Inclination, the new body of work will again feature the Toronto-based artist’s unique process of setting up 3D environments with his surrealistic imagery and then producing limited editions and one-offs from selected angles. Preview: “In The Nursery” @ Corey Helford Gallery

This Saturday night, January 29th, Corey Helford Gallery will be hosting the “In The Nursery” group exhibition featuring reinterpretation of classic American nursery art. The artists involved are hail from diverse genre’s of art including Aiko, Tom Bagshaw, Scott G. Openings: Ray Caesar – “A Gentle Kind of Cruelty” @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery

Last night, Toronto-based artist Ray Caesar’s “A Gentle Kind of Cruelty” premiered in New York at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery. This new body of work, which seems to have a more personal meaning this time around, features Caesar’s signature use of 3D modeling and animation programs where he painstakingly builds up his porcelain-skinned female characters and stages them in detailed environments.  The resulting snapshots are then released as on-offs or multiples that as you will see from the photos are breathtakingly elaborate and imaginative. Teaser: Ray Caesar – “A Gentle Kind of Cruelty” @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery

Besides his participation in the “In The Nursery” group show, Ray Caesar has some bigger things planned for January – namely his solo at Jonathan Levine Gallery. Unique in the scene as one of the rare artists who find success with utilizing the digital medium, Caesar’s newest body of work will be entitled “A Gentle Kind of Cruelty”. As you can see in the image above, his pale skinned beauties are not always what they seem.  See for yourself on January 22nd.
