If you remember, we previously reported on the limited edition and intricate Lady Butterfly sculpture (produced by Tomenosuke Sho-ten) from Aiko Nakagawa earlier this year. The initial silver colorway easily sold out on Valentine’s Day, but the newest black version (limited to 10 each) was released just hours ago 1.00pm (JST) on September 16th and retailed for $550 here. Currently available at 1xRUN is this print, Episode 9, from Glenn Barr for $85. If you remember, this image is based on an original from his show at La Luz de Jesus back in June. It’s sized at 18″ x 22″, signed and numbered, a giclee + silkscreen combo print, and come with a free copy of HEEP, a book dedicated specifically to Barr’s drawings. Opening his first solo exhibition in London over the weekend, LUDO (interviewed) yet again showed his artistic dexterity in multiple mediums at High Roller Society. Much like his Zurich solo back in April, Metamorphosis (previewed) offered an strong selection of large graphite and oil drawings, focusing on his signature weaponized insects. Kai & Sunny have just released a new screen-print entitled Ghost Flower as featured as a large format image at their recent London exhibition at StolenSpace, The Flower Show. We’re pretty enthralled by their dynamic imagery and thought that this image was one of the stand-outs of the show. Rising star artist Tauba Auerbach has been working hard with the master printers at Paulson Bott Press to create five amazing new editions, which are scheduled to be released today. For these prints, Auerbach re-conceptualized the etching process of print-making, which basically entails an image being drawn onto a copper plate and then etched into the metal using acid. For Plate Distortions I, II and III, instead of drawing, Auerbach folded pieces of copper foil and then used those as the basis of the prints. […]
