Streets: World Roundup (Oct 15 – Oct 21)

With the return of our Streets World Roundup feature, we cover a lot of ground with the amount of worthy walls that have popped up since our last article. Leading things off is this surreal hot air balloon from Claudio Ethos in Istanbul, Turkey.  Other murals that caught our eye include work from ABOVE & JUST – Germany (source), RIPO – Spain (source), Gaia – Baltimore (source), Isaac Cordal – Austria, Faith47 – South Africa, Spidertag – The Alps (source), OLEK – UK, Etam Cru […]

Streets: Roid & SatOne (London)

After pointing out a great collaboration recently from REVOK and RIME in Detroit, we now bring your attention to another joint mural – this time from Roid and SatOne in London where the Munich-based artist was in town participating in the Futurism 2.0 show (also see the Joker, Shok-1 and Remi Rough wall). With EndoftheLine for providing the wallspace, SatOne brought his distinctive style and combined it nicely with local star Roid’s mastery of geometric forms… Via Graffuturism. Discuss SatOne here.

Streets: World Roundup (Sept 10 – Sept 16)

Headlining our Streets: World Roundup this week is a rare extraterrestrial piece from Invader. After a failed attempt last month, he has finally lived up to namesake and invaded space with his tiled works. Launching from Miami, Florida where he is preparing for his next exhibition, the French street artist was able to send his imagery into orbit with a helium balloon fitted with a camera to document it (and GPS to retrieve it). Other murals to admire on earth this week include work from Inti – […]

Openings: Roid – “More Than Ever” @ TopSafe

Recently, the UK-based Roid opened his solo show More Than Ever with TopSafe London. The Heavy Artillery and MSK affiliated writer and artist presented a series of works featuring his progressive letterforms inspired by a diverse mix of  “music, nostalgia from the 80′s and 90′s, manga, and typography” which builds on his recent showing in Los Angeles (covered). Although the work has the requisite street aesthetic, he explains that he is also further influenced by concepts of precision, mathematics, and the idea of love stories […]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

It’s been a long while since the last Instagram Roundup from the streets of East London here on AM, so we thought it was about time we gathered some photos of what’s been happening over the last five months.  A favourite is definitely this great wall from Sweet Toof and Paul Insect, some wonderful painting by Conor Harrington, another visit from Sheffield artist Phlegm and new stabby women paste ups by Kid Acne and plenty more. There really is too much to talk about here, […]

Streets: World Roundup (Jan 30 – Feb 5)

Streets: World Roundup (Jan 16 – Jan 22)

Leading off this week’s summary of wall offerings from around the world is this piece from the duo from Brooklyn – Faile. We’ll be posting up an interesting interview from the two soon, but for now take a look at other notable murals from artists Ludo (Italy) – who has a show at Wunderkammern that opened last night, Sam3 (Spain), John Fekner (Atlanta), 36Recyclab (France), Isaac Cordal (Spain), Kid Acne (UK), MAR & MADSTEEZ (Los Angeles), DAL x Faith47 (New York), Alexandrine Deshayes (France), Triángulo […]

Streets: REVOK x ROID (London)

Two gifted graffiti artists and MSK brothers, REVOK and ROID recently collaborated on this piece in East London. If you recall, they recently opened a show together in Los Angeles (covered), as well as joined forces (along with RIME) for another piece in Detroit. As before, you can see that the raw forms of REVOK and the geometric lines of ROID always seem to combine well. Closer looks after the jump…
