This Saturday, May 23rd, CHG Circa in Culver City will be opening a group show entitled Product Displacement. Participants were asked to consider the “interruption” of the media and arts by the insertion of commercial advertising when creating a piece for the show. Based on one of the NY-based artist’s paintings, the sculptural release is a good example of his wit as well as penchant for creative remixing of common items and pop culture. Over the weekend, Ron English (featured) made the most of his turn at the iconic Bowery & Houston wall in New York with a mural that was wheatpasted then hand finished with paint. Constantly expanding their brand of street art inspired fun based in Hawaii, POW! WOW!’s latest adventure takes them to a satellite event at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas.
