Openings: “Wider than a postcard” & olive47 – “bonita bonita” @ Breeze Block Gallery

Breeze Block Gallery opened their huge group show Wider than a postcard (previewed) alongside the first solo show in their new gallery 2 space – olive47’s bonita bonita (featured) a couple of weeks back to a packed Portland crowd. Over 400 individual works went into the postcard show with 200 artists providing postcard sized works. POW WOW ’13: Kamea Hadar x Rone

Another mural created for POW WOW Hawaii by Kamea Hadar and Rone (see his first mural here) was finished up after the week ended. Combining the local talents of Hadar and Rone’s skills from down under, the mural featured a closeup portrait of a Hawaiian girl beautifying the Kaka’ako area for years to come. POW WOW ’13 (Part I)

With POW WOW 2013 in full swing, AM made the rounds yesterday to check out the progress as murals were going up all around the Kakaʻako district in Honolulu. Some of the artists featured at work in this first set of photos include Jeff Soto, Nychos, 123Klan, Angry Woebots, Dabs Myla, Madsteez, Shark Toof, Katch, Slick, and Rone & Wonderlust – who are collaborating on the mural seen above.
