Last Friday was the opening night of Ryan McLennan’s newest show Fabrications at the David B. Smith Gallery in Denver. The 2011 Western Award Winner spent the last 12 months channeling the cinema of filmmakers like Guy Madden and Andrei Tarkovsky for the inspiration to create the 20 piece show which will be on display until October 5th. Openings: “Unnatural – Natural History” @ Royal West of England Academy

Curated by Coates and Scarry, the  exhibition entitled Unnatural-Natural History recently launched at the Royal West of England Academy with many of the participating artists present at the opening. Featuring paintings, photography, drawings, sculptures and installations, 38 local and international artists are currently displaying their artistic interpretation of an alternative world. Following genetic mutations and environmental pressure, natural objects have been metamorphosed into unexpected forms in a place no longer ruled by humans. Opening last week alongside Chloe Early at Joshua Liner Gallery was Brooklyn-based painter Ryan McLennan. With his new body of work, Abominations (previewed), McLennan takes a look at the animal kingdom through his unique eyes and creates instances that often reflect and draw parallels to human situations. Openings: MS Fundraiser for Tim Strazza @ Joshua Liner Gallery

We all hit bumps in the road, but with a little help we can all overcome any obstacles. As mentioned previously, a good friend of AM and assistant director of Joshua Liner Gallery, Tim Strazza, was unfortunately diagnosed with a Multiple Sclerosis. We helped sponsor a fundraiser created by the gallery to generate funds that went to support Tim and his medical bills. This Thursday, a very special art fundraiser will be held at Joshua Liner Gallery for our friend Tim Strazza who was unfortunately diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
