Streets: Nuart Festival 2012

At the end of last month, Norway saw another edition of the annual Nuart Festival roll around. And as usual, another stellar lineup of artists stopped by to work on public art projects for local and traveling street art fans to enjoy. Participants Aakash Nihalani, Dolk, Eine, How & Nosm, Jordan Seiler, Mobstr (above), Ron English, Niels Shoe Muelman, Saber, Sickboy, The Wa also found time to create some indoor installations and murals for an associated group showing. Rewind (Sept 24 – 30)

Leading things off this week is a video introducing the new Doggy Radio from Yoshitomo Nara. Streets: SABER – “Skytagging” (New York)

Earlier this morning, we gave you a heads up about SABER (interviewed) taking to the skies of New York CIty. Later at approximately 1:30pm he launched his aerial assault on the Big Apple. Utilizing five jets in precision formation, Saber again stated his mind and tagged the atmosphere with his words. Openings: SABER – “Beautification” @ Known Gallery

Over the weekend, the Known Gallery in the heart of Los Angeles brought the summer heat with a joint exhibition between SABER (interviewed) & REVOK, two LA’s most wanted. First up are photos of the graf-inspired works from SABER collectively entitled Beautification. For this showing, record breaking artist decided to move away from the flag-inspired works that he has been working on of late and created a set of mostly figurative paintings centered around urban landscapes superimposed with his signature flowing script.
