Continuing to collaborate with POW! WOW! Hawaii (2020 edition started this weekend), Thinkspace will putting their Exploring The New Contemporary Movement VII group show at Wade Warehouse (449 Cooke Street) on view from February 11-15. Openings: Sean Mahan – “Rendered Problematic” @ Thinkspace Gallery

Alongside Sandra Chevrier (interviewed) showing in the main space (covered) of Thinkspace in Los Angeles, Sean Mahan also presented a small solo show in the project room. Tomorrow (February 7th) will mark the third time Thinkspace has curated a show in association with POW! WOW! Hawaii at the Honolulu Museum of Art School (see 2015 & 2014). Openings: Sean Mahan – “Invisible Threads” @ Thinkspace

Last Saturday, painter Sean Mahan presented new work collectively entitled Invisible Threads in the project room of the Thinkspace Gallery in Los Angeles. The new series of graphite and acrylic on wood pieces mainly depict portraits of children and their sewing machines, which each evoke a nostalgic feel to them. Preview: Sean Mahan – “Invisible Threads” @ Thinkspace

Coming up this Saturday, August 10th, the Thinkspace Gallery will be opening a show from Sean Mahan in their project room. Entitled Invisible Threads, the new acrylic and graphite works on panel is typical of the Florida-based artist’s work projecting innocence and nostalgia. Tying things in thematically for this exhibition are a series of portraits of children and their sewing machines, which is alluded to in the title of the show. Check our more preview images below…
