After a machine-like summer which saw Blu continue banging out thought provoking murals in the Eurozone in a near never ending stream of projects that started back in March (see Italy, Bologna, Palestra, Jesi, Krakow, Poznań, Fabriano, Cologne, Grottaglie, Valencia, Italy), the Italian street maestro has apparently worked his wizardry on another massive wall in Valencia, Spain. While in town for his recent London show, LUDO (interviewed) spent some time outside of the gallery in the urban environment where he feels most comfortable. His large-scale, hand-drawn wheatpastes infiltrated walls, billboards, and shutterfronts citywide. Dave Kinsey, designer and fine artist, arrived in Los Angeles this week and created his latest work of art on the walls of the Standard Hotel, the same location painted in the past by Eric Haze (covered) if you remember. For his mural, Kinsey mainly used black and white, which can be seen driving down the streets of Downtown L.A. Last week, we brought you photos of the cat-inspired mural Jeff Soto (interviewed) painted while in France for the Les Enfants TERRIBLES exhibition. It looks like that wasn’t the last of the feline-inspired walls that Jeff endowed on the city of Lyon as he now sends us a second set of photos of this large Le Chat Terrible piece, one of the largest outdoor works he has done in recent memory. Vhils, whom we recently filmed working on a wall for the Post No Bills gallery in Venice, California has been spotted chiseling away on the other side of the pond in the UK. This newest piece was commissioned by the Urban Outfitters in Exeter and also features what looks to be a specially constructed facade to accommodate the Portuguese artist’s unique techniques. Rounding out his time in Croatia, where a super-sized seeing device was already gifted to the Central European country, two more murals were completed by Phlegm before heading back to the UK. After gifting his homeland three cowboy themed murals back in June (here, here, and here), it looks like Conor Harrington (interviewed) has returned to Ireland for another wall. This time, he hits up Dublin with a large new piece entitled Dead Meat, painted for this year’s Dublin Contemporary. For those in London, look for Conor’s work for Lazarides’ minotaur themed event in the Old Vic Tunnels coming up next month. More photos of this mural after the jump…

If you ever wanted to see one of Miquel Barceló’s precariously perched elephant sculptures in person, here’s your chance if you are in New York. The impossibly balanced bronze sculpture entitled Gran Elefandret from the Spanish artist is now on display through May 2012 in Union Square and is 26 feet high. The gravity defying pachyderm is presented courtesy of Marlborough Gallery and the Department of Parks and Recreation’s Art in the Parks program. More photos after the jump via the gallery…
