Streets: Jef Aerosol

Famed French street artist Jef Aerosol is set to open his debut New York solo show “All Shook Up” tonight at Ad Hoc Art.  Look for brand new stenciled works as well as classic pieces on paper, wood, and found objects. Of course, as is custom with his “trade,” he set about getting up pieces all around town to coincide with the exhibition. Take a look at several other pics after the jump at all the street work which of course include his iconic red […]

Streets: Judith Supine

After his takeover of the New Image Art booth at Art Basel, it appears that Judith Supine found some time to do some traveling. That hasn’t stopped him from taking his art along and getting up in some unique locales. Take a look at another from the collage specialist after the jump…

Banksy Roundup

We’ve put together a little roundup of recent Banksy news that will hopefully tie up some loose ends.  In the video above, you will see a message from Mr. B – read to the audience before the screening of his documentary “Exit Through the Gift Shop” at the Sundance Film Festival. We wish we could have been there, but there are a couple reviews out so far (here & here).  Also, for lucky fans in the UK, it looks like there are already some tickets […]

Trailer: Banksy – “Exit Through the Gift Shop”

So…  Pretty much all the speculations have been confirmed that Banksy indeed is premiering his documentary “Exit Through the Gift Shop” at the Sundance Film Festival.  In fact, there is a website – www.banksyfilm.com as well as a trailer (seen above). Also updated on his website are all the snowy pics of the six new pieces he threw up in Park City, Utah – site of the film festival (seen after the jump). Banksy is suppose to appear on film and also speak although not […]

Streets: Banksy at the Sundance Festival

Some very interesting developments over in Park City, Utah where the Sundance Film Festival is about to get underway. Apparently, about four new alleged Banksy stencils have popped up, with the one seen above being the best one so far. Adding to the intrigue are the rumors that the “Spotlight Surprise” documentary will actually be about Banksy and entitled “Exit Through The Gift Shop,” the title of a famous piece from his recent Bristol Museum show. What will be revealed? The true identity of Mr. […]

Streets: Banksy vs. Robbo not finished

It looks as though Robbo and his crew have painted over another one of Banksy’s pieces in Camden. If you remember, what set off this confrontation was Banksy painting over one of Robbo’s historical throwups, which was over 20 years old (although the feud probably had its origins from even earlier).  After Team Robbo went back and remixed THAT Banksy piece, they now modify another one implying that Mr. B is fishing for street cred. What is making what Team Robbo is doing more effective […]

Streets: Vhils in Moscow

After his work in Italy for the Fame Festival and in the UK for the Grifter’s group show, it looks like Vhils has moved on to Russia. Moscow seems like a popular target as Mark Jenkins’ work was recently spotted there as well. As you can see, Vhils uses his unique chiseling technique to create this special piece for all Muscovites to enjoy. More images after the jump…

Streets/Video: Know Hope – “Take At Least This Burden From Me”

Know Hope (interviewed, who we last saw collaborating with Aakash Nihalani at the Blk River Festival in Vienna, has now put up another piece, this time in his native Israel. Always uplifting, his work is a breath of fresh air… Take a look at the video as he carefully assembles his cutouts and installs it in a sweet spot. Pics after the jump…

Streets: Blu in Buenos Aires

For those of you following Blu’s blog, you already know that he is working on a new stop-motion animation in Buenos Aires. No doubt, this newest video from the Italian street artist will be just as fantastic, if not better, than the original groundbreaking “Muto” and the followup collaboration “COMBO” he did with David Ellis for last year’s FAME Festival. A closer look after the jump…

Streets: Banksy Vs. Robbo

So… It seems that one of the pieces Banksy put up last week has a back story that most didn’t know about. Apparently, he stenciled over a 1985 piece by Robbo and other writers who were some of the pioneers of graf in London in the mid 80s. This has caused a pretty strong outrage among some old school graffiti writers and it looks like Robbo has gone back to paint over the piece, cleverly incorporating Banksy’s piece just like Banksy incorporated his. More images […]
