Previews: St. Monci – ‘Adventures in Technicolor’ @ 1975 Gallery

St. Monci is an artist that has been catching our eye lately. From his delicately composed gallery work to his large scale murals, his clean line-work and use of colour presents a strong abstract aesthetic. This weekend, he opens his solo exhibition at Rochester, NY’s 1975 Gallery. Adventures in Technicolor opens on Saturday, 7th September, and from the looks of these installation shots taken by photographer Hannah Betts it would be well worth checking out in person if you are in the area.  

Setup / Showing: Hyuro – “In/Between” @ ArtRebels

Last night, ArtRebels in Copenhagen hosted an opening In/Between, solo exhibition from Hyuro, her first in the Danish capital. The showing from the Argentinean artist known for her street murals, often highlighting the female condition, included nineteen watercolor and ink pieces. Setup: ROA – “Stop Over” @ Bodson-Emelinckx

Shots of opening night in Brussels for ROA’s newest solo show will soon follow, but here are some photos of the Belgium-based street artist prepping his installation and works for the exhibition. Entitled Stop Over, and held at the Bodson-Emelinckx Gallery, the new paintings and install should keep his hometown fans satisfied while they wait for the prolific animal anatomist to take to the streets. Preview / Setup: JR @ Watarium Museum (Tokyo)

If you remember, late last year, we shared with you some photos of JR touring Japan to spread his Inside Out love in his giant photo booth / converted truck. Turns out, that was only a precursor for a show opening officially this weekend at the Watarium Museum in Tokyo. AM recently stopped by San Francisco to visit Guerrero Gallery and caught the setup by Remio & Tim Diet as they prepared for their opening this Saturday.
