Our friends from the Corey Helford Gallery brought their West Coast Style to the West Country this evening for the much anticipated opening of “Art From The New World” at the Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery. It seemed as though UK art fans were highly responsive to some of the wonderful work on show at the preview night, with a packed house drawing in the crowd from the length and breadth of the United Kingdom. Some real visual treats are on offer, from the […]

Something exciting is coming to the UK in the month of May in the shape of “Art from the New World”, an exhibition organized and curated by Los Angeles based Corey Helford Gallery. Openings: SHAG – “Autumn’s Come Undone” @ Corey Helford Gallery

SHAG’s epic show at Corey Helford Gallery opened to a packed house last weekend in the Culver City arts district. Parties, good food, drinks aplenty, music, beautiful people, immaculate modern homes with mid-century furniture – in general, the hedonistic lifestyle of suburbia have always been the mainstay of SHAG’s paintings. As we mentioned in the preview, his work takes a more somber turn as he seems to have grown tired consumerism and decadent focus of his characters and in his own life. However, this turn […]

One of the shows we are looking forward to this weekend is SHAG’s (interviewed) “Autumn’s Come Undone” in Culver City at the Corey Helford Gallery. Attendees will be treated to a new “retro-cool” body of work, this time reflecting on fall colors, a more somber mood, and darker overtones. He explains “something happened to me in the last year – call it an unexpected change of hear, if you like, but a lot of the unfettered hedonism my artwork espoused has begun to catch up […]

Teaser: SHAG – “Autumn’s Come Undone” @ Corey Helford Gallery

Looks like SHAG (interviewed) will be channeling some Hieronymus Bosch for his solo show at Corey Helford in November.  The exhibiton entitled “Autumn’s Come Undone” will be his first at the Culver City gallery and will presumably have some pieces paying tribute to the famous 15th century painter.  Another image after the jump…
