Have you been wondering what Shawn Barber’s (featured) has been up to since his solo at Joshua Liner in May (covered)? It looks like he’s still hard at work doing what he loves – paint. On Saturday night, AM attended the opening for Joshua Liner Gallery’s annual “Summer Show”. Apparently, so did many of the art loving New Yorkers that turned out to pack the house. AM attended the opening of Shawn Barber’s (featured) solo show - ”Tattooed Portraits: Chronicle” at Joshua Liner Gallery a couple weeks ago. The ever-talented tattoo master created a new series of works based on various on the tattooing paraphernalia and portraiture of his friends. As his upcoming show at NYC’s Joshua Liner gallery quickly approaches in just a couple weeks, Shawn Barber (featured) recently sat down with AM for a quick discussion on the art of getting, giving and painting tattoos. Known primarily for his sittings with tattoo legends and artists, Shawn’s latest exposition, “Tattooed Portraits: Chronicle” looks to be no less than the stellar work we’ve come to expect, as evidenced by the teaser images he’s sent our way. Shawn Barber, whom we visited with during his show in SF, will be opening his newest show, “Tattooed Portraits: Chronicle” at Joshua Liner Gallery near the end of next month. The latest in a series of shows built around tattooed portraits of his friends (like one of Thomas Woodruff above) and associated paraphernalia will open on April 24th in New York.
