Last time we were with Pharrell & Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin, it was at Art Basel Miami. Over a half year later, they reveal this secret project at Art Basel Switzerland. Check this amazing collaboration between Takashi Murakami, Pharrell Williams and Jacob & Co – a mind blowing sculpture entitled “The Simple Things.” Think Superflat meets hip hop and Metroid. AM recently had the opportunity to sit down with Minneapolis-based artist Greg Gossel as he was preparing for his upcoming and massively ambitious solo show, “Happy Endings.” Greg chatted with us about the evolution of his art, themes of his current show, his inspirations and even addressed the comparisons that have long been made between him and the NYC collective Faile. “Happy Endings” opens this Saturday at The Shooting Gallery. AM dropped by Copro Gallery this past Saturday night to be at the openings of our friends Joe Ledbetter (above) and Nathan Spoor (below).Â Ledbetter’s “Death & Taxes” show opening drew an impressive crowd. Last time we interviewed Swoon, she was getting ready to set sail on her latest journey (The Swimming Cities of Serenissima) to Venice with her hand crafted fleet of ships. Israeli street artist Know Hope’s Los Angeles solo debut “the times won’t save you (this rain smells of memory)” (previewed) opened to a packed house at the Carmichael Gallery. Patrons were in awe with his intricate gallery installation echoing the theme of the show, which was comprised of cardboard buildings, his signature characters, paper raindrops and fishing twine. Openings: Dzine – “Love & Loyalty” @ Leeahn Gallery (South Korea)

Chicago-based artist Dzine was nice enough to send over images from his latest solo show, “Love & Loyalty,” which opened last week at South Korea’s Leeahn Gallery. From the look of the photos, there’s no wonder why the entire show sold-out before the opening. Dzine’s newest resin and crystal covered paintings are explosively colorful and energetic, especially the gigantic “In the beginning… (after Assumption of the Virgin).” And Dzine, who has become well-known for his tricked-out custom vehicles, unveiled his newest low-rider bike, entitled “Loyalty,” […]
