This Saturday, Joshua Liner will host the opening of “Love Monster,” Japanese-born Brooklyn-based artist Aiko’s first solo show with the gallery and her largest exhibition to date. Since parting ways with street art collective Faile in 2006, Aiko has been steadily developing as a solo artist, utilizing her substantial stencil, spraypaint and wheatpaste technique to create vibrant large-scale mixed media works. Tessar Lo made his solo exhibition debut this past Saturday with â€œFuture Perfectâ€ (previewed) at LeBasse Projects. Brandi Milne’s “Run Rabbit, Run” (previewed) opened this past Friday, April 10th at Thinkspace Gallery. There was a very unique, fun-filled vibe to this show. Those who attended the exhibition opening were treated to a wonderful new series of work and the chance to participate in Brandi’s “Easter Egg Hunt”. Throughout most of the night, plastic easter egg hunt eggs were placed in random places inside and outside of Thinkspace gallery. More photos after the jump…

Shepard Fairey “Supply & Demand” Museum Retrospective to Travel

It seems that Shepardâ€™s recentÂ dramaÂ with the AP and Boston’s finest doesn’t phase the higher-ups in the Contemporary Art world. AM has learned that Shepard Fairey’sÂ debut solo museum exhibition “Supply and Demand,” which opened (covered)Â at the Boston ICA in February, will be traveling to at least two other museums. Berlin-based stencil artist BOXI made his United States solo show debut with â€œGrey Areaâ€ (previewed) which opened this past Thursday at Carmichael Gallery. Patrons were captivated by BOXI’s photo-realistic work and found themselves immersed in the barren world his subjects reside in.
