Preview: SIXEART – “Cosmovisión Andina y los Hijos del Inti” @ Galería N2

Opening this Thursday 17 November, Sixeart is back to the N2 Galería, in Barcelona, Spain, where some of the discerning public found out about his work a year before the Tate Modern discovered him. The new solo show entitled Cosmovisión Andina y los Hijos del Inti is an approximation to the ancient cultures of the Andes, full of colour, wisdom and misticism. Openings: Sixeart – “Sueñan las gallinas con ser humanas” @ ROJO artspace Sao Paulo

Sixeart opened his debut solo show in Sao Paulo at ROJO artspace POP last Tuesday, August 11th. The fantastic exhibit, entitled “Sueñan las gallinas con ser humanas” (in English: “The hens dream about being human”), showcases thirteen brand new works on paper and a colorful installation featuring his trademark characters, geometric shapes and mysterious numerals, all stabbed with wooden arrows. The Barcelona native, who has painted on the streets since the 1980s, enjoys a successful fine art career in Spain. Openings: “Get Rich Quick!” Group Exhibition @ Carmichael Gallery

Last night, the Carmichael Gallery in Hollywood pulled no punches with their all-star show, “Get Rich Quick!,” showcasing the strongest talents in the street and urban art genre. Some scorching hot pieces lined the gallery’s walls for the exhibition, including: a rare Banksy canvas, a KAWS ad disruption, boxes and screen-printed collages from Faile, to originals by Barry McGee and Micallef and much more.
