With the Olympics coming to an end, all of London celebrated with a star-studded and rousing closing ceremony featuring some of England’s greatest cultural exports. Damien Hirst was asked to design one of the many renditions of the Union Jack in his signature spin-painting looking motif which was unveiled as part of the event. Last night, the Chinatown location of LeBasse Projects hosted Mixtape Los Angeles, a group show curated by by Jessicka Adams and Brian Wakil of Dark Dark Science with part of the proceeds going to Downtown Dog Rescue and Stray Cat Alliance. Yesterday, street photograffeur JR (featured) spent the day creating a fresh mural in Brooklyn. The large building located at 338 Berry St. was in a prime spot overlooking the Williamsburg bridge and its oncoming traffic.
