POW! WOW! ’14 / Previews: “Exploring The New Contemporary Movement” @ Honolulu Museum Of Art School

As part of the POW! WOW! event this year, things will kick off with a group show curated by the Thinkspace Gallery this Saturday, February 8th, at the Honolulu Museum Of Art School (111 Victoria Street). La Tour 13 (Paris)

Over looking the Seine, La Tour Paris 13‎ is a project curated by Mehdi Ben Cheikh from Galerie Itinerrance. During a year, the entire building was painted by 100 international street and graffiti artists, each leaving their mark with murals and installations within the 36 apartments over 9 floors and cellars. Opening to the public for a month from October 1st, the building is due to be demolished in November, making it the largest temporary street art exhibition in France. Preview: “My Turn” @ Carmichael Gallery

This Saturday night (March 17) in Culver City, the Carmichael Gallery will be hosting a group exhibition entitled My Turn. The show is the first curatorial project from Los Angeles-based artist Bumblebee and features some of the young up-and-coming talent in the street and urban art movement including Hyuro, Interesni Kazki, Jaz, Klone, LinelineDot, Moneyless, Penny, Stinkfish, and Zeus. Again it’s been a busy couple of weeks for street art in London. AM was happy to catch sight of some new work by Mr Penfold, collaborating with Sweet Toof and a brilliant bandit style shutter with the prolific Malarky whose work seems to be going up everywhere.
