Streets: World Roundup (June 2017)

It’s been a long time since our last Streets World Roundup so we won’t be able to catch you up with all the murals we have been enjoying the last year or so. We can however share what caught our eye in June though. Up top we have a mural from Eduardo Kobra in Carrara, Italy with a very unique placement. Painted in the famous Carrara quarry where Michelangelo and so many other renowned Italian artists sought marble for their works, the new 12 x 20 meter […]

Streets / Recap: ALT!rove Festival 2015 (Italy)

After sharing one of the first murals painted for this year’s ALT!rove – Street Art Festival from Clemens Behr, it’s now time to give you a recap of the event. The theme of the public arts program for this year was abstraction and the curatorial staff did a good job choosing the right artists for the job. The second edition of the festival, held in Cataranzo, Italy, featured work from 108, Alberonero, Giorgio Bartocci, Ciredz (seen above), Erosie, Graphic Surgery, Sabgliato, Sten & Lex and Tellas along […]

La Tour 13 (Paris)

Over looking the Seine, La Tour Paris 13‎ is a project curated by Mehdi Ben Cheikh from Galerie Itinerrance. During a year, the entire building was painted by 100 international street and graffiti artists, each leaving their mark with murals and installations within the 36 apartments over 9 floors and cellars. Opening to the public for a month from October 1st, the building is due to be demolished in November, making it the largest temporary street art exhibition in France. To celebrate the upcoming launch a giant Keith Haring […]

Streets: Le 4eme MUR 2012 – Recap

After reporting on Escif’s murals for Le 4eme MUR last year (here & here), we now have a recap of the 2012 edition. The festival’s name (translated to “the fourth wall”) is a theater expression that symbolizes a virtual wall between the actor and the public which can apparently also be applied to the work of the street artist and his audience. This year’s lineup includes a return of Escif along with Mr Jago, Vhils (above), Tellas, Ericailcane, and 108. Check out more photos below…

Streets: World Round (April 30 – May 6)

For our streets roundup this week, we’ll start with this interesting new piece in Detroit. The mural painted by SEVER was taken from the Instagram feed of SABER (interviewed) and looks to be a tribute piece to some of the greats in the street art scene like Barry McGee, Os Gemeos, Kaws, Futura, and Shepard Fairey. Other walls you should take notice of include pieces from Chris Stain (Baltimore), Kid Zoom & Reka (Australia), Tellas & Moneyless (Poland), Jon Burgerman (Canada), Phlegm (UK), Jaz (Baltimore), Otto […]

Streets: World Roundup (Feb 27 – March 4)

We have a little catching up to do on our world street mural roundup feature. Leading things off is this sweet rooftop shot of one of Phlegm’s telescopic pieces taken by critical mass. Other artists whose public art caught our eyes the last several weeks include Nychos (Austria), Hyuro (Spain), Aakash Nihalani (New York), Dal (South Africa), Olek (UK), POSE (Hong Kong), Flying Fortress (New York), Zilda (Italy), Icy and Sot (Iran), Escif & Hyuro (Spain), Tellas and Roberto Ciredz (Italy), and Hanksy. See them […]

Nuart Festival ’11: Herbert Baglione & Tellas

Rounding out our coverage of this year’s Nuart Festival in Norway are two last artists – Herbert Baglione & Tellas. The Brazil-based Baglione spent most of his time working the walls (above) with some intricate tags that has not been typically for him when compared to his usual figurative style. However, when you realize that these were the names of of the 77 young people that died in the recent Norwegian terror attack, this particular room took on a more powerful and somber mood. Baglione […]
