Shepard Fairey Cover: Time Person of the Year – The Protester

Shepard Fairey (featured) has designed the latest cover of TIME magazine for their Person of the Year issue which this year honors the “Protester”. If you remember, Mr. Obey also created the cover for the 2008 rendition where the annual award went to President Obama. The choice for this year is certainly a representation of world events from Arab Spring to Occupy Wall Street, activism has hit an all-time high in recent memory and who better to commemorate this than an artist who is a […]

Tim O’Brien – Gaddafi Time Magazine Cover

Looks like Tim O’Brien is the go-to guy now when it comes to the fall of dictators. After “x”-ing out Osama bin Laden for the TIME’s cover a while back, the magazine asked him to headline their latest issue with the cover art for their Gaddafi story. But, we’re surprised that Kaws and his infamous phone booth/bus stop “Ad-Disruptions” didn’t make the list. Check out who did and didn’t made the cut here. Via our friends at TWBE.

On Friday, December 19th, TIME Magazine will release its “Person of the Year” issue. The winner… President Elect Barack Obama. He will get the cover of the magazine of course, but what image/photograph did Time use? They went to the person responsible for creating the most iconic portrait of Obama, Shepard Fairey, and asked if he would design the cover for the Person of the Year winner: Barack Obama. UPDATE: Time actually conducted a video interview with Shepard to dicuss the design process for the […]
