While in Miami, we of course stopped by the Wynwood Walls complex to see what new updates they had to their program this year. Once again, the Wynwood Arts District became the capital of the street art world during Basel Week Miami. With artists from around the globe painting on every corner of this lively neighborhood and related events happening at local bars, clubs, galleries and parks, one of the main events was surely going down at Wynwood Walls. Along with a large installation piece as part of The Dean Collection at SCOPE Miami and an underwater art extravaganza at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel pool, Swoon (interviewed) also presented a new mural for her fans that made it out to Basel Week Miami. Every year during Basel Week Miami, AM always spends some time in the Wynwood district checking out the activity as street and graffiti artists put in the time to beautify the area. Looks like Wynwood Walls is again the place to be for street art fans when Art Basel Week arrives in Miami next week. Adding to the impressive roster of artists we already covered in Part I and Part II, this newest update includes murals from Ukranian duo Interesni Kazki (who just opened a show in Los Angeles), How & Nosm (also with recent exhibition in LA), Sego, La Pandilla, and a wall used both Shep and ABOVE. It looks like Wynwood Walls is kicking off things early this year because just after RETNA hit up his wall in Miami, ROA, Gaia, Nunca, HOW & NOSM, the Date Farmers, Faile, and Bast rolled into town to do their thing.
