Previews: “Year of the Snake” @ Giant Robot 2

This Saturday, February 2nd, Giant Robot 2 will be celebrating Chinese New Year early with their Year of the Snake group show. Featuring the work of Rob Sato, Aaron Woes, Jeremiah Ketner, Stella Hultberg, Luke Chueh, Deth P. Sun, Yoskay Yamamoto, Edwin Ushiro, Audrey Kawasaki, Andrew Hem, Saelee Oh, Mari Inukai, APAK, and more, the exhibition will put the legless one and its characteristics on display for art fans to enjoy. Basel Week Miami ’12: LeBasse Projects @ PULSE

It’s time to start winding down our Basel Week Miami coverage here on AM with another look at the PULSE art fair (highlights here). We’ve already shared photos from a couple booths there (Joshua Liner & Jonathan LeVine), and there is a look at a third booth – LeBasse Projects. A while back, before the current Post It 8 show (covered) that has taken over the walls of Giant Robot 2, a special show was put on at the gallery entitled 20 Pieces of Dreams. Basel Week Miami ’12 / Upcoming: Yoskay Yamamoto Installation @ PULSE

Those visiting the PULSE fair next week in Miami will have to keep their eyes our for an installation from the Los Angeles-based Yoskay Yamamoto (interviewed). Next Saturday night (September 23), the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles will be presenting Giant Robot Biennale 3, its third show (see 2009) in conjunction with Eric Nakamura (interviewed), the founder of Asian American pop culture purveyor Giant Robot. This year’s exhibition highlights the works of emerging artists Rob Sato, Deth P.
