Showing: Zaria Forman – “Antartica” @ Winston Wächter (Seattle)

Antartica is the new show from Zaria Forman at Winston Wachter Fine Art in Seattle featuring her most recent body of work. The new large pastel on paper drawings are inspired from her four-week residency aboard the National Geographic Explorer to the earth’s southernmost continent and continues her work to bring attention to climate change through her art. Openings: Zaria Forman – “SLIP” @ Winston Wächter Fine Art

Last week, Winston Wachter Fine Art in New York hosted the opening of Zaria Forman’s exhibition entitled SLIP. Infused with climate change awareness, the pastel drawings from the Brooklyn-based artist documents subjects that range from the melting icebergs in Greenland to the rising sea levels that threaten the Maldives. Openings: “Space//Squared” @ White Walls Gallery

Last month, White Walls Gallery in San Francisco opened a group exhibition entitled Space//Squared. Curated by Sven Davis, the showing was a followup to an event last year in Portland (covered). Tonight in Seattle, Winston Wächter Fine Art will be opening a solo show from Zaria Forman, who we featured in an Art Focus article earlier this year. The exhibition holds special meaning for the Brooklyn-based artist, as her exquisite paintings will be shown alongside the photographs of her late mother, Rena Bass Forman.
