How appropriate it is that Mars-1‘s work would grace the cover of Faesthetic #9 seeing as this issue features UFO themed art. Mario’s otherworldly paintings have always conjured up visions of undiscovered planets and new vibrant lifeforms. This beautiful image is no different and luckily for us, the zine is only $10 and available here.

Another interesting thing is that the geometric spirals seem like a fairly new element to his work and reminds me of a piece that was for sale at a Fecal Face show a while back (seen below)
The colors definitely reminded us of Mars-1, but at the time, was not representative enough of his work for us to acquire it. We are are kinda glad and intrigued that he has melded these new shapes in with his older work. The composition turned out great and hopefully he will continue to explore this new direction.
