It was announced recently that Brazilian artist Joao Ruas has been pegged to replace James Jean as the new cover artist for the legendary comic book series Fables. In fact, he has already finished two covers (one seen above and one after the jump). We first noticed Ruas at the “Drawing Room” show curated by Audrey Kawasaki and ironically, his work at that time reminded us of Jean. Now that award winning artist Jean is moving on to the gallery circuit, Joao will will have some pretty big shoes to fill. We look forward to seeing where this will take him and his career…
