Today will mark the official start of Baby Tattooville (BT), but the artists all arrived last night at the resort. All meticulously planned events of this scale requires an orientation and AM was honored have the opportunity to treat the artist team to dinner as they prepped for their big weekend at BT. After a hearty meal, the the artists took out the tools of their trade and teamed up to create what we would like to call “Duets.”

“Duets” are the exclusive original artwork that Arrested Motion is sponsoring and giving away to each participant at BT this year. These little gems are each hand drawn by two of the artists at BT. Each “Duet” collaboration is unique as each artist is given one sketch from each of the nine other artists. Imagine combos such as Audrey Kawasaki alongside Travis Louie, Greg Simkins with Yoskay Yamamoto, KMNDZ next to Liz McGrath… you get the point.  In vintage BT fashion, unannounced artists/BT alumns stopped by and also participated in our little “Duet” experiment. Jeff Soto, Tara McPherson and Molly Crabapple picked up their drawing instruments and joined in on the fun.

We will be giving away a few “Duets” as well as other prizes throughout the course of this weekend so keep an eye out on our BT articles on AM, twitter, facebook, or The Artchival Forum for an opportunity to get some BT loot.
