Krista Huot (interviewed) opened her first-ever solo show this past weekend at Gallery1988SFAM was on hand the day of the opening to catch up with Krista as she was putting the finishing touches on her latest body of work.  “Nepenthe,” an ancient drug used to cure sorrow and depression through forgetfulness, is truly a fitting name.  By reminding and reinterpreting the forgotten stories and fairy tales of our youth, Huot effectively reinvigorates our imaginations, and as promised, cures our sorrow with her playful and promising style.
