We like catchy titles, and you don’t get much more catchy than the mouthful we named this contest. When we set the contest to win a set of exclusive and uber-limited skate decks D*Face designed for Real Skateboards, we were hoping that AM’s readers would rise to the challenge and pull out all the creative stops. Well, we received more than 50 entries for the contest, and each delighted us with the range of artistic talent shown by the entrants.
To recap, the rules were to submit an entry to the D*Face x Arrested Motion *Face painting contest using either face paints, or an artwork created either by hand or digitally. We received a range of styles of entries, and along with D*Face drew up a shortlist to make the final selection easier. Read on for the results of the contest and to see the winning entries, plus some of the shortlisted entries after the jump.
Judging the final few selections was a tough job as we collectively felt that the top prize could have gone to a number of the strongest entries, but we finally decided that the overall winner of the contest is Steve Sexton for his papier-mâché D*Dog head. We loved the effort that obviously went into this entry, and of course it was bang on topic! Steve wins the set of 3 skate decks. Congratulations on grabbing this special prize!
The two runners up, and winners of the t-shirts are Sonia with her fantastic top-dollar entry (which was just pipped to the post by the D*Dog) and Carl Hardie with his wonderfully repugnant zombie.
We should also note that Steve and Sonia produced multiple entries that deserve an honourable mention as they really grasped the spirit of the contest.
Thanks to all who entered – you kept us and D*Face entertained with your creativity – it often made our day when another great entry rolled in. We’ll be in touch with the winners shortly.
