When AM recently visited Shepard Fairey at his studio in Los Angeles, he also took us on a private tour of Subliminal Project’s latest exhibition Too Fast To Live, Too Young to Die. The group show curated by Katherine B. Cone and Jon Cournoyer is a selection of photography, art and ephemera from the California punk and hardcore scene emphasizing the explosive period of the late 70’s to early 80’s. Artists included Raymond Pettibon, Shepard Fairey, Glen E. Friedman, Jenny Lens, Dave Markey, Jordan Schwartz and Winston Smith. Aside from the iconic photos reflecting the attitudes of the music and fashion of the Cali subcultures, we were also impressed by a few unique collaborations between Mr. Pettibon and Mr. Fairey himself.

The show runs till the end of the week so stop by and enjoy yourself. Check out all the photos after the jump.
