Over the weekend, the Merry Karnowsky gallery held an impressive exhibition showcasing new work of four very talented female artists – Aiko, Deedee Cheriel, Lindsey Way and Tara Mcpherson. Each artist brought forth a unique collection of art that showcased their individual styles which had a completely different feel when compared to the next. Whether it was Lindsey Way’s intricate figures made out of paper or Aiko’s paintings that recall her Asian heritage and attraction for anime-like characters, the artwork on hand featured an interesting contrast of styles. The same trend follows with Mcpherson’s paintings and Deedee Cheriel’s use of animal-like characters. This show featured a combination of art that invited the art aficionado the chance to enter different worlds within the same gallery space in a rather unique and enjoyable manner.
