Last week at the Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City, Kevin Peterson filled the main space (also see Jacub Gagnon’s work in the project room) with his new show entitled Amended. The paintings he chose to put on display featured his signature form of portraiture with children and animals juxtaposed with backgrounds full of graffiti and urban scenery (some of which had a retro feel to them). Rounding out the show was a sculptural piece based on a defaced playground spring toy that was mirrored with an accompanying painting.
