Almost two years after her last show in New York, Nicoletta Ceccoli (interviewed) has unveiled new paintings at AFA NYC. Entitled Sweet & Low, the fresh body of work continues the exploration of her delicate female characters in a land of dessert. As seen commonly in the San Marino-based painter and illustrator’s work, the innocence of the setting is balanced by an undercurrent of dark themes seen when her imagery is examined more closely.
