For his third solo with Joshua Liner Gallery, opening on May 7th, Evan Hecox has prepared a series of works on paper, wood panel, and canvas, employing numerous combinations of acrylic paint, ink, gouache, watercolor, and colored pencil. Entitled Far, the new exhibition continues the Denver-based artist’s documentation of his travels, including inspiration from trips to New York, the remote Mojave Desert, Santa Fe, Los Angeles, and Tokyo. Always present in his imagery are geometric shapes, color studies, and typography leading to a cohesive new body of work.
