Our last piece of business to close out our coverage of this year’s Baby Tattooville is to show you the glorious sight that greeted attendees at brunch on Sunday, the morning after the once-in-a-lifetime experience of the Surrealist Ball hosted by Mark Ryden and Marion Peck. Lined up neatly on tables at the front of the room were original monochromatic paintings from Ryden that were used for the art on the special plate (seen right below) used by guests the night before at the event.
Each little original was given away at the end of the meal to attendees this year through a system of pulling numbers out of a bucket and then choosing a little envelope that had a photo of the piece that was meant to be theirs. In addition, one extra lucky person had a little mark on their piece that also designated them as the new owner of the large eye painting from Ryden. The generous Los Angeles-based artist also gave away his hat from his ball costume to the designer of the amazing ball room – Victoria Vengeance.
