Tomorrow night (November 19th) at the 557C West 23rd Street location of Jonathan LeVine Gallery, Faith47 will be opening a solo entitled Aqua Regalia – Chapter Two. As indicated from the title, the exhibition is a continuation of a series of works from the South African artist’s 2014 London show that deal with the idea of “royal water,” a highly corrosive mixture that has the ability to dissolve one of the most enshrined substances – gold. Related to this is the philosophy behind her work to utilize found objects and to give value that which has been lost and overlooked.
