This week’s Art Focus highlights the meticulously detailed drawings of Ben Tolman and his surreal imagery. In some of his work (seen above), the Washington DC-based artist builds urban environments with a god-like eye as the viewer is able to take in the scene from a distance. More recently, he has been rendering some smaller, more abstract pieces that take things into the more improbable realm (seen below). These he has labeled the Sarajevo Drawings – soon to be exhibited at a yet to be disclosed location.
