POW! WOW! Hawaii will be making its return for 2017 with a new roster of artists (international and local) as well as fresh new programming and art shows. Running from February 11th to the 18th, the festival will features live painting of public murals and installation mainly in the Kaka’ako neighborhood along with a block party alongside the Honolulu Night Market, an exhibition curated by Thinkspace at the Honolulu Museum of Art, a print show with Detroit-based 1xRun, artist talks, Saving Banksy documentary premiere, “Art to the Pitch” soccer tournaments, break dancing battles with UDEF, as well as a DIM MAK Anniversary Concert with Steve Aoki presented by Electric Palms and POW! WOW!.
Visiting participants this year include Careaux, Cinta Vidal, Dan Witz, Defer, The Draculas, Drew Merritt, Evoca, Glazed Paradise, James Jean, Joram Roukes, Kevin Lyons, Maya Hayuk, Michelle Tanguay, Mr Jago, Oakoak, OG Slick, Ouija, PichiAvo, Shok-1, Tara McPherson, Tavar Zawacki (Above), Telmo Miel, and Woes. And local artists including Beak, Ckaweeks, Dak1ne, Devour, Gavin Murai, Hoven, Jasper Wong, Jeffrey Gress, Kai Kaulukukui, Kamea Hadar, Kaplan Bunce, Katch, Lucky Olelo, Maek, Mason Rose, Mung Monster, Ran Noveck, Prime, Puff, Rolando Venegas, Solomon Enos, Soker, Uglykids, Whomu, and Wooden Wave.
