On June 9th, Dorothy Circus Gallery in Rome will be hosting a new solo show from Fuco Ueda entitled Yumei. Extensively utilizing natural materials in her work like powdered mineral pigments on paper, cloth and wood, together with acrylic paint, the Japanese artist has created a new body of work that lingers between reality and the dream world. Here ethereal paintings are accentuated by a vibrant palette leading to an almost photo negative effect for her surreal scenes featuring her female characters and strange flora.
