One of the highlights of Basel Week Hong Kong for local fans and out of town visiting collectors was a solo from Osgemeos at Lehmann Maupin. Entitled Déjà Vu, the vibrant new body of work features the surreal imagery from the twins that we have grown to love including influences from the golden age of hip hop and their life as vandals. Rounding out the exhibition was a sound installation featuring modified speakers painted to resemble faces and some imaginative use of materials including sequins, cotton balls, and a fabric & yarn collaborative piece with the Brazilian duo’s mother.
