On September 8th, Soey Milk’s second solo show (see 2015) with Corey Helford Gallery opens in Los Angeles. Collectively entitled Inflorescence, the vibrant new body of work features over 20 paintings and drawings (which served as studies for the paintings). The new pieces serve as markers for significant moments in Milk’s life, made all the more personal with her friends as source material (as well as what looks to be some self-portraits). The exhibition also sees the locally-based artist continue to explore the use of embedded objects as a medium, with mementos like wallpaper, fabric, and even a feather from her chicken make it into her paintings.
